I’m a copywriter by hobby and a fisherman by trade. Because ideas, you see, are a lot like our slippery aquatic friends. Elusive. Roving just beneath the surface. Oblivious to our agendas.
Drawn toward agencies whose walls are filled with mounted trophies, I’ve had the good fortune to be hired full-time by David Baldwin, Jim Nelson, Alex Bogusky, Susan Hoffman, and others. And I’ve been invited inside myriad other creative departments on a freelance basis.
This casting about has enabled me to reel in some legit keepers. With the help of talented partners, I’ve landed concepts that have transformed birthday cakes into race cars, helped people find real-life doppelgangers, reduced a website to ashes, convinced LeBron to share his super-secret practice routine, and made public restroom stalls somehow seem inviting.
All this to say that I’ve learned where the fish like to hide, I know how to choose the lure, and I work to ensure that the “one that got away,” never does.
Those are my paid passions. When not pursuing my creative prey, I like to work with my hands, expand my Encyclopedia Brown-like knowledge of pop culture, and jump from various structures.
